3 Tips For Making The Most Of The Space You Have In Your Condo

If you’re living in a condo, an apartment, or simply a small home, conserving space and being organized is likely one of your top goals. But even with the best of intentions, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the amount that you want to have in your home when you feel like you can’t find the space to make everything fit. Luckily, there are some things you can do to maximize whatever space you have in order to meet your own needs.

To help you see how this can be done, here are three tips for making the most of the space you have in your condo.

Use All Vertical Space

Aside from making more space through renovating your condo, one of the best ways you can find more space in your home is to think about your spaces a little differently.

To do this, Christie Joy, a contributor to HomeDesignLover.com, recommends that you use all the vertical space available to you in your house. Even if this space hasn’t been well thought of or taken advantage of with the items already built in, like your cupboards, you can add items to them so that you can make better use of this space. This can help your space not only feel like it’s more organized, but it will help everything look more organized as well.

Choose Larger Pieces Of Furniture

When space is limited, many people naturally think that putting smaller pieces of furniture will help them feel like they have more space. But while you may be able to fit more items into a room if they’re smaller of themselves, it won’t help your actual space to feel any larger by doing this. In fact, it can also make your rooms feel more cramped.

Rather than going this route, Trent Hamm, a contributor to The Simple Dollar, advises that you get fewer larger pieces of furniture so the footprint of your furniture is smaller even if the pieces don’t quite seem so.

Look For Items With Built-In Storage

As you go to buy furniture and other items to put in your condo or smaller home, Charlene of Realtor.ca shares that you should be on the lookout for pieces that have built-in storage within them. Then, even if the item is larger or more bulky than another piece you were considering, you’ll get some additional storage space for other items that otherwise would have needed to be stored some other way.

If you live in a small space, like a condo, and are looking for a way to make the most of the area you have available in your home, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you do just this.
